Chapter 524 — The Aliens' Mentality Collapses

The Beast-Taming Craftsman Page 5 of 8

Because it was still incomplete, the Yin-Yang Millstone failed to annihilate and destroy the opponent's divine-skill secret art; in the clash of power it was slightly inferior. The Phoenix Man was sent flying, Eleven was flipped over and sent rolling backward, and both sides suffered some backlash—more precisely, Shijin's side suffered the worse backlash. Even with Eleven's indestructible golden body, the backlash was severe. Yet the Phoenix Man was not the least bit happy.

All he had was a face full of breakdown and disbelief. Feeling the pain in his body and sensing the surrounding environment, he understood in an instant—he had been dragged into another domain.

He had nearly forgotten: this was no one-on-one duel between him and that black-and-white bear. At Shitan's side, there was still a whole pack of beasts that had yet to make a move!

"ROAR!!!" Within the Genesis Domain, the Azure Dragon Chongchong coiled across the starry sky, its dragon eyes gazing upon the earth. In an instant the land burst into spring, countless plants flourishing and growing; grass and trees slowed Eleven's momentum, letting it gradually roll to a halt.

Having exhausted the faith power it carried itself, Chongchong could now only draw upon the free-floating faith power of Blue Star to use the Genesis Domain.

Shi Ying's Azure Dragon faith power was divided into three parts. One was the faith power carried on faith relics he had collected from various eras and timelines of Blue Star, which Chongchong had always kept on its person—but that had been used up entirely in the earlier battle against the deity of Shenyuan City.

With that gone, Shijin and the others now had left only the Azure Dragon faith power lingering on the various life forms of Blue Star, and the Azure Dragon faith power within Xiao Zi.

What was inside Xiao Zi was still far too little for now, and as for what was on Blue Star, Shi Shuo had been reluctant to use it. But thinking that he had just slain the Tyrant Dragon King and that the faith power of the Dragonman Empire would soon all be his, Shi Cen grew a bit more generous.

"Eee! (Are you okay?)" The Divine Tree, the Heaven-Piercing Emperor, controlled the plants to catch Eleven, and through the World's Grace, combined with Chongchong's Rule of Spring, worked a miraculous healing on Eleven.

"Eee! (Revive!)" Eleven instantly came back at full health, pushing against the earth to rise, and looked with exhilaration at the Phoenix Man still tumbling backward through the sky. Cosmic beast-taming sure was strong.

It wanted to keep going!

So thought Eleven and Shi Tan, but the Phoenix Man felt not the slightest bit strong. Forcing himself to halt his backward flight, he stared in shock at the colossal Azure Dragon in the heavens.

"ROAR!!!" A wyvern's breath imbued with lightning and flame, stirring the power of world-destruction, spewed toward the Phoenix Man.

Rumble.

Beneath the resonance of the rules, he was dumbfounded once again.

This domain was undoubtedly its creation. Gazing at this Genesis Domain condensed from faith power, he and the Star Phoenix saw several great words rise in their minds.

"A faith quasi-divine skill, the Genesis Rules? This is... an Azure Dragon?"

"Impossible—how could anyone have raised an Azure Dragon of this caliber in a place like this!" he cried out in shock.

Their figures were instantly swallowed by the dragon's breath, but at the eleventh hour, the wings transformed into a colossal orb of light that wrapped them completely.

The star-like orb and the dragon's breath ground against each other relentlessly, yet in the end the breath could not suppress the orb; even so, the violent shockwave from their collision blasted the Phoenix Man flying once more, leaving him covered in wounds.

"Holy shit." At that moment, sensing Chongchong's godlike majesty filling the sky, the Demon King Dragon and the others were stunned. Genesis Rules... So they'd said that Shi Jin's Azure Dragon's power of imagination had a chance to advance into Genesis Rules, and it had actually, actually succeeded?

That meteor attack alone had been terrifying enough, and now this Genesis Domain... They glanced left and right, only to find that with their own strength they could not break it open at all, and their shock deepened.

Yet more dumbstruck than any of them was Zilan. She raised a hand and pointed, trembling, at the Azure Dragon.

"An Azure Dragon... How did he cultivate this?"

Baoshi Xu noticed something amiss and said, "Wait, do universe beastmasters know about the Azure Dragon too?"

Zilan was at a loss for words. "Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise—all are suspected to be four universe-level lifeforms from the previous cosmic epoch. No one knows whether they truly existed, but relics of the Four Saints are scattered throughout the universe, and archaeology has unearthed vast numbers of antiques imbued with the Four Saints' power and ancient faith energy."

"As a result, many lifeforms in the cosmic sea are evolving in the direction of these four."

"Faith in the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise is spread across every corner of the universe, and Blue Star has it too, so that does not surprise me. What is rare is an Azure Dragon that commands the Genesis Rules—it already counts as a near-perfect evolution. Even in the universe at large, an Azure Dragon of this caliber is uncommon."

"How... did they manage it?" Zilan found it inconceivable. Even that Lord Lin Feng, with his gift for evolution, would surely have found it no easy task to deduce and evolve an Azure Dragon of this level.

At Zilan's words, the gods and Lin Shuo and the others were astonished. There were Four Saint Beasts in the universe as well?

And they were suspected to be universe-level lifeforms from the previous cosmic epoch, with many relics left behind?

"Could it be that Blue Star holds some special relic containing the Azure Dragon's divine power?" That was the only possibility Zilan could think of that would let Shi Jin cultivate an Azure Dragon of this caliber.

But she had guessed only half right: Shi Jin had not encountered any relic imbued with the Azure Dragon's divine power on Blue Star—it had been on Earth.

For now, the battle mattered most. The powers Shi Jin had displayed one after another had reduced Zilan to complete silence; whether it was the god-level talent or the Genesis Azure Dragon beast, both were utterly extraordinary.

Was this really just an eighth-rank beastmaster from a low-level planet?

"Aaaah—" She and the Star Dragon stared at the Phoenix Man's miserable state, speechless. Yet the Phoenix Man was truly formidable; against a demigod of Blue Star—even an awakened god—those last two moves would have been an effortless instant kill. From the shocked expressions of the Golden Inkstone God and the others, one could see just how terrifying Shi Ying's attacks were.

But he had endured it nonetheless, seeming to have suffered only partial injuries—not even a fatal grave wound. The bedraggled Phoenix Man felt crushing pressure; steadying himself, he stared blankly as the panda he had gravely wounded was healed back to full health by that little tree baby, and his composure cracked.

"Damn it—" At this point the Phoenix Man realized that the Azure Dragon and the panda were not to be trifled with, and immediately locked onto Susu, who was closer.

First, because Susu was nearest; second, judging by energy fluctuations, only she and Shi Ying were the weakest. Going straight for Shi Jue was unrealistic, and Shi Jin was protected at the very rear, so they chose to start with Susu and pick them off one by one.

The Phoenix Man's plan was lovely—to pick off Shi Jin and the others one at a time. If Shi Ying's six beasts had been merely at the level of Baoshi Cat, his plan would certainly have succeeded.
