Chapter 421 — Without Any Effort

The Blossom Guardian

"Smack!"

Zou Ruoming was stunned, and so was Uncle Yan! For Wei Zhao had slapped Zou Ruoming across the face once more, paying no heed to Uncle Yan's fist — not even bothering to dodge it.

"Are you brain-dead? You brought a frail old man to deal with me? Brain-dead pills may be tasty, but you shouldn't overdose on them — I've never seen anyone as brain-dead as you!" Wei Zhao shook his head.

Once the shock passed, Uncle Yan nearly laughed himself sick with rage. Truly, ignorance knows no fear — he, a fine hand of the early Yellow Rank, was in this boy's eyes nothing but a sickly old man?

That he was frail was true enough. From childhood his health had been poor, and he had stalled at the early Yellow Rank, with no hope of advancing further. That was why he had volunteered to be his family sect's pawn and vanguard, coming to the mundane world to seize money and support the family's expenses.

But that was measured against the rest of his family. And this snot-nosed brat before him dared call him an old man?

Uncle Yan's blood surged, and with it the force in his hand. He meant to kill Wei Zhao where he stood with a single punch.

But before the fist could reach Wei Zhao, there came a crisp "smack," and Uncle Yan staggered and fell to the ground, five red welts blooming across his face.

"You think you're something special? A fine hand of the early Yellow Rank — is that so impressive? An old man your age, bullying two youngsters like us — don't you feel ashamed?" As he spoke, Wei Zhao planted a foot on Uncle Yan's head, crushing the left side of his jaw out of shape and knocking his teeth loose.

Wei Zhao's words left Zou Ruoming and Tang Yun drenched in sweat. They had heard of young people bullying the old and losing face, but never of an old man bullying the young...

Uncle Yan, however, saw nothing wrong with Wei Zhao's words. By Tang Yun's and Zou Ruoming's reckoning, that rule held only in the mundane world; in the martial world it did not apply. There, the older one was, the deeper one's cultivation — and an elder bullying a youth would be decried as using his seniority to oppress his juniors.

But was he, now, using his seniority to oppress a junior? Uncle Yan felt like weeping but had no tears. He had truly misjudged; this young man had seen through his strength at a glance, and now beat him without the slightest effort.

He was a fine hand of the early Yellow Rank, yet the boy trampled him like a dead dog, and he had not the least room to resist. By the look of it, the other must be at least a mid-Yellow Rank expert, or even late-Yellow Rank.

"Uncle Yan, what... what are you doing? You needn't hold back — there's no one here, just kill him..." Zou Ruoming still had not grasped the situation. He thought Uncle Yan was feigning weakness, pretending to be bullied by Wei Zhao past all endurance, only to spring up and kill him.

That might achieve the goal, but it would look unsatisfying no matter how you sliced it — not as clean as killing Wei Zhao outright. So Zou Ruoming reminded Uncle Yan with some urgency.

No wonder he thought so: in his eyes and heart, an early Yellow Rank expert was a being like heaven itself, a symbol of invincibility. He had once heard his father, Zou Tiandi, say that it had taken several armed men to barely restrain Uncle Yan — and what did that mean? One against one, Uncle Yan was invincible!

Though Zou Ruoming did not quite understand what rank the early Yellow Rank was, he was sure it must be stronger than Wei Zhao. However good a fighter Wei Zhao was, he was only an ordinary man — how could he compare with a martial expert?

Even if Wei Zhao had beaten Brother Black Panther till he was spitting teeth, Brother Black Panther was only a small-time thug; however tough, he could not be tougher than a Yellow Rank expert. That was why Zou Ruoming could utter such ignorant foolishness.

Hearing Zou Ruoming's words, Uncle Yan groaned inwardly. Can't you see the situation? Do you think I enjoy being stepped on? I have no choice but to be stepped on! His strength clearly surpasses mine by a great margin — I am no match for him!

"Zou Ruoming, how did you know I was here?" Wei Zhao asked, still stomping on Uncle Yan one foot after another.

"Wei Zhao, don't get cocky. In a moment, when Uncle Yan shows his might, you're dead!" The fool still had not seen the situation clearly, still believed Uncle Yan could finish Wei Zhao. "You crashed my dad's car and broke my brother's arm — this time I brought Uncle Yan specially to cut you off!"

"Oh? So that B from before was your old man?" Wei Zhao understood at last. No wonder Zou Ruoming knew where he was — he was the son of that Zou Tiandi, and the brother of Zou Ruoguang!

Truly, as the saying goes: birds of a feather flock together — one family of fools.

"Uncle Yan, what on earth are you doing? Hurry up and finish this brat!" Seeing that Uncle Yan still had not sprung up, Zou Ruoming grew puzzled.

"Elder Jiao, there are too many people here — it's not convenient to kill this old thing. Is there a way to cripple his strength?" Wei Zhao secretly asked Jiao Yazi in the jade pendant.

"Of course!" Elder Jiao's voice rang out. "People like this, who reach the Yellow Rank through crude cultivation methods, all have their flaws. How could they compare with your Xuanyuan Dragon-Taming Formula? Anyone who has not reached the Earth Rank has a vital weak point on his body. Break that point, and the man is essentially crippled — unless he reforges his body and re-enters the Yellow Rank through external martial arts!"

"Then where is his weak point?" Wei Zhao was both startled and delighted by Elder Jiao's words.

"That... I don't know either," Jiao Yazi said.

Wei Zhao nearly stumbled. Even Jiao Yazi did not know?

"But generally, the weak point of a Yellow Rank expert lies near the dantian — unless he is one of those rare external body-forgers," Jiao Yazi added, and Wei Zhao saw hope again.

"Bang!"

Wei Zhao kicked Uncle Yan in the dantian. Uncle Yan let out a ghastly scream and passed out, his whole body collapsing to the ground like a deflated balloon.

Wei Zhao knew he had shattered Uncle Yan's weak point and crippled him outright! In the instant of the kick, he could feel the true qi in Uncle Yan's body leaking away rapidly until it vanished.

Just as Elder Jiao had said, Wei Zhao could no longer sense any strength in Uncle Yan. To him, Uncle Yan was now no different from an ordinary old man.

Zou Ruoming was frozen with fright at the scene. He had not expected Uncle Yan to actually faint — was it real, or feigned? But the next moment, he saw Wei Zhao walking toward him! Faster, safer!
