Chapter 760 — Who Would Look Back Again

The Herdsman of the Wasteland Page 2 of 2

earth quaked, mountain ranges rose up one after another, and the space of Fengdu swelled at furious speed. Shen Mu stared, dumbstruck, unable to make sense of it. "Fengdu is Tubo's horn; it is a world and at the same time a treasure." Old Ox, being widely experienced, knew the reason for this. "If Tubo's horn were refined into a treasure, its power would be immense—a peerless divine weapon. Back then the Old Master meant to pull out one of Tubo's horns and forge a saber from it, but when he went to Youdu he was beaten back by the Benevolent Sage King Tianqi, in a most sorry state. The Benevolent Sage King Tianqi hunted him relentlessly; luckily I ran fast, carrying him all the way to Xuandu, and only thus was the Old Master's life saved." Shen Mu did not know whether to laugh or cry—so the Martial Dao Heavenly Master had such a past too, one he would rather not look back on? "Another function of Tubo's horn is to transform into a world of vast scale." Old Ox went on: "King Yama is, after all, of the younger generation and does not know the true power of Tubo's horn. The original Fengdu was really too small; if it could be fully unfolded, it would be vaster even than Taihuang Heaven and Luofu Heaven." Di Yiyue, Heavenly King Tian Shu and King Yama took the forms of towering deities walking through the darkness, seal after seal flying out from their hands in every direction, and still the space went on expanding, the earth shaking and the mountains rocking, a fearsome sight. Shen Mu even sensed a rule in Fengdu growing ever stronger—the rule of Youdu. Though Fengdu was only a small fragment of Tubo's horn, the rule of Youdu stored within it was terrifying beyond measure! "In the past, the Realm Where the Dead Live could not suppress true gods or masters of the Yaochi realm; now I fear that even a god of the Yaochi realm who enters the Between of Life and Death will be suppressed and turned into a skeleton." He watched closely; the seals these three employed were the seals of Youdu, and among them Heavenly King Tian Shu was the most practiced—well worthy of the title Tubo had conferred on him, Heavenly King of the Nether Capital—his attainment in the divine arts of Youdu was truly unfathomable. Heavenly King Tian Shu bore the Imperial Gate Divine Blade on his back, and every movement he made overflowed with domineering might. "Tian Shu has been drinking." Shen Mu watched for a while and said with great certainty: "If he hadn't been drinking, he wouldn't have that kind of domineering air." Di Yiyue and King Yama were somewhat unpracticed in the seals, plainly because Tian Shu had taught them the art; they had learned it only recently, and their execution was still inexpert. "King Yama, after all, has long cultivated the Daoist arts and divine powers of Youdu, so it is only natural that he could learn Heavenly King Tian Shu's seals. But how is it that Sister Di Yiyue could learn them too?" Doubt rose in Shen Mu's heart. "Senior Brother Sanduo, why is Sister Di Yiyue able to employ every kind of divine power? Is she also an Overlord Body?" Old Ox shook his head. "An Overlord Body? What nonsense. The First Heavenly King is a rare kind of spirit body, an All-Spirit Body with scarcely any elemental restriction. It is said that the All-Spirit Body is a spirit body carrying the Heavenly Duke's bloodline, and therefore whatever cultivation method or divine power she studies, she can master it. In those years Kai Huang placed great hopes in her and spent no small effort before he could have her take the Four Emperors as her masters." "The All-Spirit Body, carrying the Heavenly Duke's bloodline?" Shen Mu was utterly astounded; then he lifted the willow leaf from between his brows, and his Undying Spirit Consciousness rushed into the Shen-Character Continent, asking: "Heavenly Duke, do you know of the All-Spirit Body?" The old man with white brows and white beard heard this and at once grew wary. "Shen, what is it that you know?" Shen Mu hastily withdrew his Undying Spirit Consciousness and pressed the willow leaf back to the space between his brows, smiling: "They all say the Heavenly Duke is as selfless as Tubo; so he too has a past he would rather not look back on." "Besides the All-Spirit Body, there is also the Netherworld Body." Old Ox continued: "This Netherworld Body has to do with Tubo, and is said to carry Tubo's bloodline. Both bloodlines are exceedingly rare. The First Heavenly King was an All-Spirit Body, and Kai Huang intended as well to find a Netherworld Body, yet in the end never found one." Shen Mu blurted out: "Tubo? Tubo has a history like that too?" Old Ox wagged his tail. "What the particulars are, I do not know; I have only heard that such spirit bodies exist." Shen Mu steadied himself, feeling as though something within him were collapsing. Suddenly the Nai River beneath the bridge churned in the darkness, and out of that darkness a face of stunning beauty slowly surfaced, gazing at Shen Mu upon the bridge. Shen Mu looked down from the bridge and saw that peerless lady with a long snake's tail swaying in the darkness and the fire. His heart gave a leap, then settled again, and he smiled: "Lu Li?" "Shen Fengqing." The peerless lady smiled too. "You're looking for my brother?" Shen Mu smiled. "Wait a moment; I'll call my brother out to see you."
