Chapter 646 — Two Pieces of Good News

The Blossom Guardian

No sooner had Zhong Fabai's words fallen than Li Cihua's phone rang.

Li Cihua took out his phone, glanced at it, and saw that it was actually the tattooed man, An Jianwen's underling, calling.

"Hello?" Li Cihua answered at once. After all, the two sides were partners now, and every month An Jianwen brought him a handsome profit.

"Brother Cihua? It's me. Brother Wen says he has already found a suitable kidney source for Zhong Yongliang. Tell him to come over right now for the kidney transplant surgery!" the tattooed man said to Li Cihua.

"Oh? Already found one? That's wonderful, thank you so much!" Li Cihua had not expected that speaking of the devil would summon him. He had just been discussing with Zhong Fabai the matter of finding a kidney source for Zhong Yongliang, and An Jianwen's side had already taken care of it.

"We all benefit each other, after all!" said the tattooed man. "In half an hour I will send a car to Geli Fuyun Bar to pick up Zhong Yongliang. Brother Cihua, make the arrangements on your end!"

"All right, then we will meet in half an hour!" Li Cihua hung up and turned to Zhong Fabai with a face full of smiles. "Old Zhong, I must congratulate you!"

"Congratulate me? Congratulate me for what?" Zhong Fabai's heart stirred. He had heard Li Cihua on the phone earlier saying something about having found something, but he had not paid it much mind. Now, though, Li Cihua wanted to congratulate him, and Zhong Fabai's mind began to race. He thought of a possibility that set his blood pumping...

"A matching kidney source for Zhong Yongliang has been found. He can go through with the kidney transplant surgery!" Li Cihua said. "An Jianwen's people will send a car in half an hour. Have Pinliang wait at Geli Fuyun Bar, and he can head straight over when the time comes!"

"Really?!" Zhong Fabai was instantly beside himself with excitement. He had only this one son — this was his boy. Though he said nothing about his son having lost a kidney, every day it felt as though a great stone were lodged in his chest, an unbearable weight. He wanted to solve it but had no way at all, and could only force himself not to think about it.

But some things cannot be solved simply by refusing to think of them. The reason he had let Zhong Yongliang take the risk of poisoning the school cafeteria was precisely that Young Master Bing had promised Zhong Yongliang would not do it for nothing — that he would speak to An Jianwen and have him help find a kidney source matching Zhong Yongliang's, to put a new kidney in him.

Whether Young Master Bing could actually put in a word, and whether An Jianwen would do him the favor once he did — that was beyond Zhong Fabai's control. But hope was better than no hope! What he had not expected was that Young Master Bing's ability to get things done was truly no small thing: his son had barely finished the poisoning before a suitable kidney source was found!

"Young Master Bing never shortchanges those who work for him!" Li Cihua said with a smile. "As long as we keep close on Young Master Bing's heels, we will be living the high life from now on!"

"Indeed, Young Master Bing is a fine boss, worthy of our loyalty!" Zhong Fabai said with genuine feeling. What he had feared most before was that Young Master Bing was merely using him and did not take him seriously. But now it seemed that the man kept his difficulties constantly in mind — even with a broken leg, lying in a hospital bed, he had not forgotten to help Zhong Yongliang find a kidney source. "Shall I go and thank Young Master Bing in person, and pledge my loyalty while I am at it?"

"No need. Young Master Bing should be resting!" Li Cihua waved a hand. "You had better call Pinliang first and have him come over. An Jianwen will send a car soon — do not let it delay the real business!"

"Of course, of course!" Zhong Fabai saw the sense in that. "I will drive over and pick up Pinliang right now!"

But before Zhong Fabai could even get out the door, Li Cihua's phone rang again. Li Cihua took it out and saw that it was the tattooed man calling again. So he gestured to Zhong Fabai, signaling him to wait a moment before leaving.

"Hello? Brother Tattoo, is there something else?" Li Cihua answered.

"Heh heh, I nearly forgot just now — there is another piece of good news I have to tell Brother Cihua!" the tattooed man said with a laugh.

"Oh? Another piece of good news? What news?" Li Cihua asked.

"Brother Wen wants me to tell Young Master Bing that the kidney to be transplanted into Zhong Yongliang this time was cut out of Wei Zhao!" the tattooed man said mildly.

"What! Wei Zhao?!" Li Cihua was startled at first, but then came wild delight. "Brother Tattoo, are you serious? You caught Wei Zhao? You are going to cut out his kidney?"

"Haha, Brother Wen has a grudge against him too. Who would have thought his kidney would just happen to match Zhong Yongliang's!" The tattooed man laughed heartily. "I hear he has grudges against you and Young Master Bing as well?"

"Grudges? It is more than a grudge — it is a deep hatred!" Li Cihua said viciously. "Then I must thank Young Master An!"

"Do not mention it, do not mention it. I will hang up now; I will send the car over in a bit!" It had suddenly occurred to the tattooed man that Wei Zhao also had grudges against Li Cihua and Young Master Bing, so he had called again to hand over a favor for free.

Li Cihua hung up, so happy he could almost jump. Wei Zhao, oh Wei Zhao, your day has come at last! It is over for you, is it not? Your kidney is about to be cut out, is it not?

Zhong Fabai was standing to one side, and this time he heard it clearly. When he learned that Wei Zhao's kidney was to be transplanted into his own son, he was so delighted his face fairly bloomed. "Brother Cihua? From what they are saying, they are going to put Wei Zhao's kidney into Pinliang?"

"Haha! Yes, I never imagined there could be such a coincidence. But it is just too satisfying. I must hurry and tell Young Master Bing the news, let him enjoy it too!" With that, Li Cihua went to the back room of the bar to find Young Master Bing.

Zhao Qibing was asleep. He had been rather annoyed at being woken by Li Cihua, but when he heard the news he brought — that Wei Zhao was going to have his kidney cut out — his drowsiness vanished at once. If not for his broken leg, he would have leapt out of bed and cheered three hurrahs!

The person he hated most was Wei Zhao. No matter how An Jianwen had caught Wei Zhao, no matter how he had cut out Wei Zhao's kidney, he was equally delighted, because so long as Wei Zhao suffered, he was happy. Best of all would be Wei Zhao run over and killed by a car — that would be truly satisfying!

Zhong Fabai also took the opportunity to express his thanks to Zhao Qibing, and to pledge his loyalty.

Zhong Fabai was simply too happy, so he decided to drive over and pick up Zhong Yongliang himself. After leaving the bar, he drove his Mercedes at top speed toward Songshan City No. 1 High School. On the way, he dialed Zhong Yongliang's number, preparing to tell him the good news.
