Chapter 12958 — Thank You, Senior, for Your Generous Gift

The Blossom Guardian

Whether in the comprehensiveness of its approaches to limit-breaking or the profundity of its specific methods, it stood, across the entire open zone of the Divine Domain, in the absolute top tier.

Wei Zhao straightened and raised his hands in salute. "Thank you for your generous gift, Senior. This junior will keep it in mind."

"You think too much."

The old beggar waved a dismissive hand. "It was always meant to be yours. What talk of thanks? Whether or not you join my Main God Academy in the end, you've passed at least two rounds of the special trials. This much of a benefit had to be given to you."

Be that as it may, the fact that he had deliberately timed the delivery to this very juncture still made it, from where Wei Zhao stood, no small favor.

Behind it there was likely more than a little intent by other high-ranking members of the Main God Academy to court him. After all, Sikong Dao had been pulling tricks in the shadows all along, and anyone in Wei Zhao's position would inevitably have mixed feelings.

This limit-breaking manual was a timely rain for Wei Zhao, enough to change, to no small degree, how he viewed the Main God Academy.

And for the Main God Academy, this effortless favor cost them next to nothing.

After a pause, the old beggar added a warning. "That Xing Jun's head still hasn't been found, has it? From what I know of Sikong Dao, once he sets a piece on the board—even if it's just a pawn that has crossed the river—he'll wring every last bit of value out of it. You'd best keep your guard up."

Wei Zhao nodded gravely. "I understand. I appreciate your concern, Senior."

"I'm off."

The old beggar waved, took up his wine pot, and swayed out the door, one step and three wobbles.

Watching him go, Wei Zhao immediately brought out the limit-breaking manual and began to study it.

"There are actually this many methods?"

Wei Zhao pored through it carefully.

All he could say was that the Main God Academy deserved its name—an existence that could stand above the various Divine Academies—and this single admission textbook alone was enough to leave everyone else streets behind.

Limit-breaking was, in others' hands, a jealously guarded secret; yet here a full dozen approaches were listed at once.

Still, taken as a whole, they were fundamentally much the same.

Each method differed in its particulars, but the core logic was essentially one and the same.

Take a piece of artificial bone and merge it into the body; then bind a Divine Artifact to fuse with it.

The advantage of this logic was that it was mature enough, validated by a vast sample size, and its reliability was not in question.

But there were drawbacks as well.

Artificial bone, after all, was not the bone one was born with; under certain extreme circumstances, there was a risk of it being forcibly stripped away by external force.

In other words, limit-breaking by this method could, overnight, send one back to square one.

Of course, such cases were exceedingly rare; the vast majority of the time, there was no real problem.

But this method carried yet another layer of disadvantage.

Because one had to adapt to the artificial bone and, at the same time, to the fused Divine Artifact, every limit-break by this route required a considerable period of digestion and adjustment afterward.

Three to five years at the long end, one or two at the short, varying from person to person.

On the whole, this type of limit-breaking method was still acceptable and was, at present, the mainstream choice.

Had there been no better alternative, this would have been Wei Zhao's choice too.

Until Wei Zhao came upon a path that was utterly different.

"Quantum entanglement?"

Seeing those four characters appear in the limit-breaking manual, Wei Zhao felt his whole brain buzz—he nearly froze on the spot.

This was an internal manual of the Main God Academy.

For such a term to appear in such a manual hit Wei Zhao no less hard than if "Study hard and improve every day" were written across the academy's front gate.

"What? Are you serious?"

For a moment, Wei Zhao even suspected the old beggar was playing a prank on him.

Only after a careful study did Wei Zhao finally come around.

"There really is such a method!"

He had more or less guessed who had created this method.

The Track Main God.

By Sikong Dao's account, the Track Main God had once been his student—in other words, the Track Main God had once been a cadet of the Main God Academy.

And this person had a background in the mortal world. Even if on the surface he had the look of a schoolboy, if he could ascend to Main God rank, then his understanding of the nature of the world was, without question, among the very top.

That he would strike out on his own path and create a heaven-defying method was hardly hard to understand.

Put the other way around, it would have been strange if he had lacked such ability.

After all, if one truly followed the crowd in every respect, by what right would he ascend to Main God rank while others could not?

At first Wei Zhao was somewhat daunted.

His knowledge of quantum mechanics was limited indeed; if he lost out for want of schooling and could not make sense of this special limit-breaking method, that would be a real loss.

But after studying it carefully, he was at once set at ease.

"All things in the world have quantum entanglement. A Divine Artifact, as a conceptual-level carrier of ability, must have another concept corresponding to it in entanglement."

"All one needs is to discover the content of this concept, concretize it into some ritual, and perform it; then there is a certain probability of making oneself a pseudo-quantum-entangled body of the Divine Artifact."

"By this means, one can directly fuse and bind oneself deeply with the Divine Artifact, with no adaptation process required, with extremely high reliability, and beyond the reach of external force."

The more Wei Zhao read, the brighter his eyes grew.

Frankly, had this appeared anywhere else, Wei Zhao would have been just like anyone else—certain to think it wild fantasy.

But for this to appear in the admission manual of the Main God Academy changed its weight entirely.

The Main God Academy would never include an unreliable method.

Crucially, if his guess was right, the Track Main God was the creator of this method, and the fact that he himself had ascended to Main God rank was the strongest proof of all.

Then Wei Zhao scratched his head somewhat. "The logic is sound enough, but how does one go about finding the corresponding concept of a Divine Artifact?"

The core of this method, plainly put, was to walk a conceptual ritual.

But a Divine Artifact was not a living thing, nor was it Lord System; it would not take the initiative to issue a binding quest.

Without the proper means, everything could only be done by guessing.

And how long would that guessing take?

It had nothing to do with intelligence; without the relevant clues, no matter how high your IQ, if it couldn't be figured out, it couldn't be figured out.

Wei Zhao came around. "No wonder this method is listed last."

Had he not read it carefully to the end, with even a touch of carelessness he might never have noticed it.

Normally, since this method had produced a Track Main God, even within the Main God Academy it should have been splashed across the front page in boldest ink, and everyone would have been falling over themselves to get at it.

Seen this way, the thing was sheer mysticism.

Wei Zhao pondered for a long while, still unable to make sense of it, and was just about to give up with a sigh when a flash of inspiration suddenly struck his mind.
